Sadly, we will be closing The Esslemont for the time being, but as you may have seen in the news, we are currently undertaking a refurbishment in our sister site, The Ferryhill, which will provide a new restaurant offering for our Esslemont customers.

The Esslemont Bar & Restaurant and Mac’s Pizzeria, situated in the former Esslemont & Macintosh building has officially opened to the public, following a six-figure transformation.
The new venue, which features two concepts within the iconic building, has launched The Esslemont Bar & Restaurant based on the ground floor and Mac’s Pizzeria on the first floor.

The transformation of one of the city’s most iconic buildings, part of the former Esslemont and Macintosh (E&Ms) department store, has commenced as independent hospitality operators the McGinty’s Group officially takeover.
The hospitality group which now operates eight pubs, restaurants and hotels in Aberdeen, has started their significant refurbishment project which will see them occupy and transform the ground and first floors of no.38 Union Street.

Independent hospitality operators, The McGinty’s Group has strengthened its portfolio with the addition of one of the city’s most iconic buildings, part of the former Esslemont and Macintosh (E&Ms) department store.
The McGinty’s Group which operates six pubs, restaurants and hotels in Aberdeen including McGinty’s Meal An’ Ale, The Stag, No.10 Bar & Restaurant, The Ferryhill House Hotel, The Fourmile and The Silver Darling, will occupy the famous site with plans to redevelop the venue with a £500,000 refurbishment.
